Reason #55 Languages as elements

In my French I class, I work on pronunciation skills as French is so different from English. Words link one to the other and it has a special flow to it.  That is why it is so beautiful, not that I am biased or anything.  It is actually like a song.

As I was pointing out some specific examples in a poem and talking about the rhythm, Mathieu said “If languages were elements, French would be water because it flows so smoothly.”  What a beautiful metaphor.

Sometimes it takes a new pair of eyes and ears to shed light on things that have been a part of our lives for a long time. Seeing a language that I have loved for so long in a new way, what a gift…

Merci Mathieu pour ton observation et compréhension de la beauté du langage français!

This is why I teach!
